Updating!

Okay! so i haven't been catching up with my posts, so here's an old one, there are gonna be a few old ones to catch up to and post because winter is coming up. I need to update what the kiddies have been up to this past fall..This was a day when Daddy got to play, I think it was on Veteran's day! We played video games, went to the Lake to feed duckies, (luckily they haven't migrated aha), Seth met a friend and his name was Kyle. We shared our bread with his family and they were having lots of fun climbing and riding bikes. It was only 5pm so we decided to top off the night with some all time favorite chuck e cheeses!!...it was a great day, just a day we could relax a bit and unwind. I'm so glad Nick was up to doing all this in one day.

MmmmM&M's

Much to my amazement. Today I discovered that my 23 month old knows her colors! (somewhat) Today I opened a mini pack of regular M&M's to reward Lailie for her good behavior. As she reached for one,.. I realized, "wait a minute..what a great way to teach colors!" So, before she grabbed an M&M I said.."stop!" "kay Lailie's which one's the yellow one?" ..and to my surprise, she reached and grabed a yellow one. I thought, hold on this must be beginner's luck. So I told her to grab a blue one and an orange so on. and she did so with every color, but green and red..and then she knew brown but was obvious she only knew it cause it was the last one left. But, I'm pretty convinced that my little girl recognized her colors! I am super stoked. So, there will be more to practice in the future (with m&m's and a few other things), but what a great way to teach colors! You can teach them and reward them at the same time! Gee M&M's are so universal, I'm sure I could teach with jelly bellies too. I knew I was a preschool teacher for a reason!

[SUPER IDEA! We're so gonna head out to the m&m factory this weekend and get all the colors, kinda pricy but well worth the fun!]
